A mythic warrior who'll stop at nothing to possess her...

After enduring years of torture from the vampire horde, Lachlain MacRieve, leader of the Lykae Clan, is enraged to find the predestined mate he's waited millennia for is a vampire. Or partly one. This Emmaline is a small, ethereal half Valkyrie/half vampire, who somehow begins to soothe the fury burning within him.

A vampire captured by her wildest fantasy...

Sheltered Emmaline Troy finally sets out to uncover the truth about her deceased parents—until a powerful Lykae claims her as his mate and forces her back to his ancestral Scottish castle. There, her fear of the Lykae—and their notorious dark desires—ebbs as he begins a slow, wicked seduction to sate her own dark cravings.

An all-consuming desire...

Yet when an ancient evil from her past resurfaces, will their desire deepen into a love that can bring a proud warrior to his knees and turn a gentle beauty into the fighter she was born to be?

Can you say yummy?! I was messing around on Facebook a few weeks ago and asked for a vampire book suggestion. My lovely author friend, Megan D. Martin, suggested that I read A Hunger Like No Other by Kresley Cole. I should have clarified that I wanted a male vampire, but oh well LOL. I very much enjoyed this book. It wasn't one of those books where I thought "oh man, I need to finish reading this ASAP." I consider this one of my "leisure" books. And by leisure, I mean it took me a damn month to read it. There's something about those tiny paperbacks that make it damn near impossible for me to read in one sitting. I'll admit that it felt good to take my time reading a book. I'd never get any reviews done if I did that.

Moving on...it was definitely one of those books where the main characters shouldn't be together by their species standard. I mean hellloooo, vampires and werewolves don't mix. This book throws all sorts of monkey wrenches at you. I only started reading adult romances this past year. I was totally on the YA kick. I read 1 erotica and said this isn't for me. I was just reading the wrong kind. This was TASTY!! Lachlain is seriously a brute and I freakin love it! Rightfully so though since he's a Lykae(werewolf.) Emma was a little wish-washy for me. It's like she couldn't decide if she wanted to be a bad ass or a whiny pussy. Just saying...
