Broken Promise by Julia Crane and Talia Jager completely grasped my mind, yet again. I don't know if it's because of my love for fairies and fairytales, but I am completely consumed by this series. This book in the series starts off a year later, and Rylie is back in her human home, but is struggling with the reality of what her life is to become. She spends a great deal of this book dealing with inner turmoil and anguish of the decisions she has made. Finally, Rylie confides in her best friend Sierra, and lets her into her fairy life. It was a struggle for Rylie because she had kept it hidden from her, for so long, because she feared that Sierra would reject her. As the time passes, Rylie and her family also struggle with finding a way out of a promise that would determine the rest of her life. I just couldn't put it down. I loved that the struggles because they were feelings we would all feel, in our lives. Again the authors made the imagery so captivating that all I could do was in vision what each scene and character looked like page by page, line by line. I give this book a 4 out of 5 stars and two thumbs up.
