My Review

I was given this book from the author to give an honest review.
I give this book 4 1/2 stars, the plot was well written, reading about Ancient Egpyt and learning some new things I didn't know before was wonderful, and the characters were great especially Suzy! I loved how she could defend herself if need be and would stop at nothing to finish her paper.
While the plot was great and the book long (which I love) I felt as though it was filled with too much information sometimes. But what really got me was the part with Ben. I did not really understand what exactly was his problem and what he really wanted to do with the world.

The story evolves around Oxford student Suzy da Silva who is getting her Ph. D. She is trying to do her thesis and connect the link between Tutankhamun and Christianity. She gets funded by the Horus Corporation to travel to Egypt, and they send a highly trained martial artist bodyguard named Getsu. While there in Egypt that is when the action begins and Suzy not only puts her background of martial arts to use, she starts putting the puzzles together.
As Suzy starts uncovering hidden meanings within the tombs of Egypt and then soon in Mexico someone is not wanting her to. They will stop at nothing to make sure she does not succeed.

About the Author

Tom Bane grew up in England. He studied physical chemistry at University and went on to work in the energy industry before becoming a writer. The son of an engineer and a school teacher, he has always had a fascination for the interplay between science and beliefs, and these themes provide the backdrop to his novels. He had the idea for the Suzy da Silva series one day in 2008 whilst out walking with his dog in Cornwall near Tintagel Castle. His first novel “Masks of the Lost Kings” took him over two years to write and research, visiting the ancient ruins of Egypt and South and Central America. His first novel was published in 2012, and has exceeded all expectations. Since then, he has been busy on his second novel in the Suzy da Silva series, with more novels in the series already in the pipeline. Tom appears regularly in the media and is highly rated by fans and booklovers alike. He spends his time living and writing in the USA, UK and Thailand.
