*Warning, there is the use of the n-word within the storyline. It goes with the hate crimes that are happening in the story. I hate the use of that word at all cost, but I felt I need to let the readers know about it.*
Have you ever had an author that no matter what they write you just can't wait to devour it? I have had only a handful of authors that do it for me. M.E. is one of those authors.
I highly recommend you read book one so you understand the story and the background. If you don't you will be confused. We go back and forth between the present and the past so make sure you are keeping up. I really enjoyed how we had multiple I don't want to call them plots but scenes might be the right word going on. Because in the end, it all comes together beautifully. Now some person is murdering black women and the police have no clue who it is or why. They believe it to be a hate crime pretty much. Sadly, Carmella, who can experience death she knows it is more as she has seen and felt it. With the help of our lovely mysterious friend Constance, they will uncover who is behind it all. Now while Carmella is dealing with this problem we have one going on with Enzo who really really wants to be verbal but is not able to unless it is via radio. I really do love how we can hear Enzo this way. Something tragic happens and Enzo is in Rikers as you know is not a prison you want to be at, and for Enzo, it is not easy. It broke my heart to read what Enzo was going through. He is going to go through a lot in the book and someone from his past will come to light. It is not a good thing. I will say I was a bit surprised at the end when we get answers on Enzo and that part I will leave right there.
There were a handful of errors throughout the book, which didn't drop my rating but once I found one it was hard to not bypass the others.
Question for the author, is Blaise Radicci related to our Miki? I was kind of curious about that.
