I have really enjoyed this author’s writing style. Just the way he can pull you into this weird world makes you want more.
So when he asked me if I wanted to read Kharma’s Abrasive Contusions I jumped on it, new characters, new world it has to be good right? Well for me it was a fine line between I did like but I was wondering about this new world. We are introduced to Kharma Kelly she is a P.I. who use to work for the FOP which I do not know what that stands for but it is the police for in the future.
Kharma is good at what she does I mean we learn that when she use to work for the FOP she had a high turn over rate which is good. Now that she is a P.I. she is good at that. In each part of the story we learn a bit about who Kharma is and how she does her job, now it isn’t easy by far but she does good work. This story is broken down as part one, part two, and so forth and within each part is a new job that Kharma does. As she is working she also finds love with Serena and you just hope them two hit it off, but you have that inking it might not as Kharma has secrets she keeps hidden.
My heart broke for Kharma towards the end when we get the story with Horatio Grape and that just changes a person and for Kharma I can understand why she is the way she is.
With all the different cases that we read it was fulfilling as each case was closed so you as the reader was never left wondering.
Now on to the things that bothered me with this book.
We are into the future which I can understand but I like to have backstory. Why are we in the future? Why are some people on this planet (which I don’t know the name of it) and others are on Earth?
Kharma is always getting hit in the head. I mean like really girl? You need to get a metal plated head just saying.
What is this monthly fee of some sort that you have to pay to the government to have the police look into things for you? Hence backstory I felt was needed.
Other than those things it was a good book I really enjoyed it and I hope to see Kharma more along with her world.
