After reading the blurb I figured it was really going to be a murder mystery book with some romance thrown in.
I was only partially right. There was a murder mystery but there was more romance than anything, but it wasn’t the hardcore romance it is more like the newlywed romance. You know the kind that drives your crazy the two main characters just can not get enough of each other. I read so much I love you’s in this book than I have ever read before. With that being said I did like the relationship that Jade and Jasper did have, they clicked.
Jade is a young detective who is woken up by a dream she has that occurs every now and then it seems. The dream she learns later on is about a cold case that went unsolved. Really has my interest there a cold case oooh this has to be good. I love a good mystery and it seems that something is going to go down.Then she meets Jasper and it seems that the book took more of a focus on the relationship of the two than her trying to solve the case.
As the story progresses Jade learns who her mother is, just how big her family truly is being as she never met them before it is like secrets are coming out of the woodwork. And Jade handles it all very calmly, she doesn’t seem too nervous about it all.
It seems a majority of the story takes place somewhere in a bed, hotel and fireworks are going off but not the fireworks you are probably thinking off. Towards the end I did get a bit confused with all the people involved with the mystery and it was hard to keep straight who was who and married to whom. But I finally got it all figured out.
I think the author could have developed the characters a bit more so they had more of a personality. I think she could have focused more on the murder throughout the whole story instead of more towards the end of the book. I think she has a lot of potential and I would like to read more stories by her to watch her grow as an author.
