My Review
First thought when I saw the cover was "Wow, Alyson Noel outdid herself." Its absolutely gorgeous!!! I was so excited to read this book after reading the authors previous series, The Immortals, which I loved! The book started a little slow for me, I wasn't sure if I'd enjoy it. After about the third or fourth chapter, I really got into it. I really enjoyed the characters. There's Daire, a spunky, witty and courageous girl, who just realizes she has abilities and responsibilities that most teenagers could never understand. Then there's Dace's twin brother to Cade, which is the bad guy in this story. He is the total opposite of Dace. Dace is sweet and absolutely gorgeous and has some abilities of his own. Then we cant forget Paloma, Daire's grandmother, who until now, Daire had never met. She learns to love and respect her for her knowledge and help with her journey of becoming a very powerful seeker. Something that was very refreshing to me was the use of the Native American culture and tales. It was really different and not something you hear about much, which I loved. I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed this book. I really cannot wait for the next installment to come. I believe this series has enough promise to be good, if not better then her previous ones.
